1938: Edward B. Gilmore in Bakersfield, California founded "Gilmore Aire Conditioning Service."
1945: Operation was moved to the 1st of three buildings located in San Francisco, California.
1946: Richard Soegaard entered the firm, became a partner and in 1954 the Company became a California Corporation. The associated companies "Allied Electrical & Refrigeration Contractors" & Gilso Manufacturing Company" were also formed.
1961: Modern offices and shop facilitese were constructed occupying up to 30,000 square feet of land. The Company grew rapidly and employed over 200 people serving the greater Bay Area and beyond.
1968: The present day Company, a new entity, was born as "Mechanical Services."
1980: Peter and Tom Gilmore (Sons of Edward Gilmore) joined the firm. The Company changed its operating name and became a California Corporation in 1988. Edward Gilmore remained active in the Company's operations until 1992.
Today: Peter retired from the business in 2022, however the Company continues its operations in San Francisco under the direction of Tom Gilmore. The traditions of the family business are maintained with a high level of service and craftmanship that has always been synonymous with the Gilmore name.
